SUTCAST project was launched in 1984 when Professor P. Davami started to organize and manage a team for casting simulation activities. Professors and students from different universities began to develop a unique software for modeling of casting processes. In its first phase, the project was aimed to lead to a gating and risering design software capable of performing calculations needed for optimum gating and risering design for various castings. Two dimensional modeling of solidification process was the goal of the second phase of the project. The early versions of the program covered a few features of solidification phenomena. Continuous team work on SUTCAST resulted in new versions of the software with greater capabilities in many aspects. Now, benefiting from a quarter century of experience, SUTCAST comes with many advanced features in three-dimensional space. A world-class software for all foundrymen.
